As some classes will finish their studies by the end of August and might plan to leave Hamburg, there is a small chance for you to take over a room or apartment from a KLU graduate. You might also want to check out the facebook group "Freie Wohnung / WG in Hamburg" where people are posting about free flats and rooms.

SAGA

The municipal housing company SAGA has small (unfurnished) apartments in its portfolio that are particularly suitable for trainees and students in Barmbek-Nord - 15-22qm for around €250-€300. Minimum rental period 13 months.
